ADRENAL HORMONE IMBALANCES
(Fatigue, insomnia, mood alterations, burnout, cognitive impairment, weight gain)
In today’s hectic world, many of us experience chronic stress, as well as acute stress. It is the chronic stress, in particular, that impacts all aspects of our health, often more significantly than we are aware. Any form of perceived stress alters our physiological responses, specifically activating our fight-or-flight response and altering our cortisol production. If the stress persists, it can potentiate cognitive changes, mood alterations, insomnia, digestive distress, and hormone imbalances. In women, chronic stress can affect the menstrual cycle and may increase the risk of premature menopause.
Through a detailed personal history and testing, we can identify the maladaptive patterns that are contributing to your current health status. Treatment addresses correcting these detrimental lifestyle factors as well as the resulting physiological imbalances that diminish our vitality. Once such causes for ill health are elucidated, the process of repair can begin. We work in collaboration with our patients to empower them to reclaim their health.
